Summit of Mount Shasta

Mount Shasta is a most majestic mountain, part of the Cascade Mountain Range, located in Siskiyou County in Northern California about 45 miles from the Oregon border. Mount Shasta is the cone of an extinct volcano rising to a height of over 14,179 feet above sea level, and is one of the largest volcanic peaks in the continental United States. We decided to climb the beast the last day of June, 2012 going into the first day of July. It was a great experience, and we were proud to represent Interstate Plastics at over 14k feet!

Essential gear for this climb includes crampons and an ice axe. Poles and a helmet are a good idea!

Looking back at our day one accomplishment.

An early morning start from Helen Lake base camp.

Red rocks mean you’re at Red Banks. 2/3rds the way there!

On top of the world! The summit of Mount Shasta at 14,179 feet.
